Overview

Hospital Classes ensure that students who are hospitalised continue their education with minimal disruption. The service offers lessons in Maths, Maltese, and English, helping learners stay connected to their school routine while supporting their emotional well-being during their hospital stay.

What you'll get

  • Liaise with the student’s Head of School and class teachers to ensure continuity with the school curriculum, especially in cases of long-term hospitalisation.
  • Coordination is to be made with the Educational Assessment Unit (EAU) to ensure the necessary arrangements are in place for Year 6 and Year 11 students attending state schools to sit for their annual examinations while at the Hospital. The EAU will provide the relevant examination papers, and invigilation will be carried out by the Hospital class teachers. In the case of students attending Church or Independent schools, examination arrangements are to be coordinated directly with the respective head of school.
  • Coordinate with the MATSEC Department to arrange for SEC-level exams to be held on the hospital premises when necessary. The MATSEC Department will provide the exam papers together with invigilation staff.
  • Attend multi-disciplinary meetings to address and support the student’s holistic needs during hospitalisation.
