Overview

The Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD)’s main responsibility is to safeguard Cap 627 of the Laws of Malta the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) Act. The Investigations Unit within CRPD is tasked to investigate complaints made to them of failure to comply with any provision of the UNCRPD Act on an individual case basis and, where it seems appropriate, conciliate in relation to such complaints. 

This form allows both persons with disabilities and their family members (those directly affected) to report to the CRPD if they feel that they were discriminated on the grounds of disability.  
 

What you'll get

Upon submission of this complaint form, the Investigations Unit will assess the report under the provisions of the UNCRPD Act to determine whether the report constitutes of discrimination on the grounds of disability. 

The Investigations Unit’s process includes gathering information from all affected parties, both the party which is reporting discrimination and the party which is allegedly discriminating. Once all information is in hand, the Investigations Unit will issue an opinion about whether the matter is in breach of the UNCRPD Act and work towards the elimination of the reported discrimination.
 

Eligibility

Both persons with disabilities and their family members (those directly affected) can report to the CRPD.
