  • Exemption from Payment of the Vehicle Registration Tax

    The aim of this scheme is to provide support and financial assistance to persons with disability and their families to acquire a means of transportation suitable for their needs.

  • Exemption from Payment of the Vehicle Road Licence

    The Vehicle Road Licence Exemption scheme allows people with disability or their parents/carers to be either partially or fully exempted from paying the annual road licence, depending on the age of the vehicle.

  • Guardianship for a Person who has a Disability or Mental Disorder

    Guardianship is a legal relationship between a person who has a disability or a mental disorder and another person called the Guardian. The purpose of Guardianship is to provide support to the person in managing their own affairs, and to advocate for their rights and best interests.

  • Independent Community Living Scheme

    The Independent Community Living scheme (ICL), is a financial package offered to persons with disability to live more independently or provide more assistance in more intense situations.

  • PEKTUR Application Form

    The PEKTUR programme is open to disabled persons registered with CRPD who want to further their studies in lifelong education, which studies may be carried out on a full-time or part-time basis. The studies will be one of the tools which will lead to individual and personal growth and to the enhancement of one's life opportunities. 

    Therefore, the PEKTUR programme provides an opportunity for disabled persons to seek channels of empowerment through further education. Applications from non-disabled people can be taken into consideration so long that they specifically undertake research in the area of disability studies. The policy of the PEKTUR Board shall always give priority to applications received from disabled people.
     

  • Persons with Disability Scheme (Scheme DIS): Grant to Render Residence Accessible

    The aim of the Housing Authority is to give assistance to persons with a disability to render their residence adequate for their needs or to convert part of the existing premises so that the person with a disability lives an independent or semi independent manner close to the family.

    This scheme provides that, prior to granting financial assistance, the Authority gives technical advice as regards the nature of adaptation works, which need to be carried out for the best benefit to the applicant or to the person with the disability.

  • Report abuse of Blue Bay or a Blue Badge parking

    The Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD)’s main responsibility is to safeguard Cap 627 of the Laws of Malta, “The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) Act”. Part of the tasks assigned to The Enforcement Unit within CRPD is investigate complaints re any abuse of Blue Bays and/or abuse of a Blue Badge. 
    This form is intended for persons with disabilities and their family members (or others directly affected) to report to the CRPD any concerns, misuse, or abuse related to the designated parking bays or blue badges.

  • Sonia Tanti Independent Living Centre

    The Sonia Tanti Independent Living Centre (STILC) provides support, information and guidance to persons with disability and their families to lead an independent life within the community. Professional assessments are offered by Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to enable persons with disability to achieve, maintain or regain their independence through the use of mobility equipment, wheelchair and seating solutions, and car adaptations.

  • Student Placements

    Aġenzija Sapport provides placements which are practical and relevant to students from various academic institutions and programmes. The goal of such placements is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and experience to complement their studies in various fields. The Agency offers placements within most departments, whether administrative in office environments or on the frontline within the services, according to the requirements of the respective course.

  • Therapy Refund Scheme

    The Therapy Refund Scheme is available to all parents who have a disabled child and are entitled to the benefit up to the last day of their 16th year, registered with an EU Disability Card (available from Agenzija Sapport), to reclaim a direct payment for expenses incurred for therapy sessions, even if they are not taxpayers. The therapy must be provided by a warranted or licensed therapist.  Conditions apply.
