The Property Market Agency Act (Chapter 644 of the Laws of Malta) came into force on 26th September 2024 and established the Property Market Agency (PMA) as the authority responsible for regulating property market intermediaries in Malta. The Agency replaced the previous licensing structure administered under the Real Estate Agents, Property Brokers and Property Consultants Act and now oversees the licensing, monitoring and regulation of real estate agents, property brokers, branch managers and property consultants operating in the Maltese property market.
