Overview

The Buy Sustainable Property Scheme is designed for individuals seeking financial support for those who purchased or are about to purchase an energy-efficient property home.

It aims to promote sustainable housing by raising awareness about the benefits of energy-efficient buildings, such as reduced energy consumption and long-term cost savings, while encouraging greener building practices across Malta and Gozo.

What you'll get

The scheme offers up to €4,500 OR up to €9,000 over three years, depending on the property’s energy performance rating. The grant will be distributed over three years.

Eligibility

Any applicants who are Maltese Citizens and citizens of the EU, who purchased or are about to purchase an energy-efficient property home, having contract signed from 1st October 2025 onwards.

EU Citizens must satisfy the criteria issued by any Authority and/or by the Office of the Prime Minister. In the case of married couples / two persons who have entered into a Civil Union and who are not legally separated, one party must be a Maltese Citizen or Citizen of the EU

How to apply

A person who qualifies under this Scheme shall submit an application on the prescribed online form. The application must be submitted after the signing of the deed. However, the Authority retains the right to close the scheme when it deems fit.

Documents Required:

•    Asset Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
•    Property Deed signed from 1st October 2025 onwards
•    Beneficiary ID Card (back & front) / Passport / Residence Permit
