  • Home Admission

    Home Admission provides residential care service in an emotionally safe and secure environment for senior citizens and persons with disability, who can no longer cope with living in their own homes.
  • Home Help Service

    The aim of the Home Help Service is to support beneficiaries to keep on living in their community independently and as long as possible. It also aims to provide support for informal carers.

  • Leasing of motorised variable height beds to eligible persons living in the community

    Persons over 60 years of age or persons under 60 years of age who are in possession of the European Disability card issued by Agenzija Sapport, still living in the community, and are bed bound, can lease a motorised variable-height bed.

  • Meals on Wheels

    The aim of the Meals on Wheels service is to support senior citizens and other persons who are still living in their own home but are unable to prepare a meal.

  • Night Shelter

    The aim of the Night Shelter service is to offer shelter during the night to senior citizens who live alone and who, for various reasons, may feel insecure in their home. A number of night shelters are offered in Malta and Gozo. This service is offered by the Active Ageing and Community Care in collaboration with other entities.

  • Occupational Therapy Service

    The Occupational Therapy Service is concerned with promoting health and well-being of a senior citizen through occupation. The primary goal of this service is to enable a senior citizen participate in the activities of everyday life. This outcome is achieved by working with a senior citizen and communities to enhance their ability to engage in the occupations they want or need to, else by modifying the environment to better support their occupational engagement.

  • Phlebotomy

    This service consists of the withdrawal of blood for blood investigation and transporting the blood samples to the Pathology Department at Mater Dei Hospital. The aim of this service is the provision of phlebotomy to housebound senior citizens and persons with a disability at their own home.

  • Physiotherapy Service

    The Physiotherapy Service is aimed at helping a senior citizen reach his maximum potential so as to enjoy independent living to the best possible level. The physiotherapist who forms part of a team of Allied Health Professionals, will provide therapy and rehabilitation advice/training to address any problems related to mobility.

  • Podiatry Service

    The Podiatry Service is designed to assess, diagnose and treat conditions of senior citizens, related to the foot and lower limb. The podiatrist who forms part of a team of Allied Health Professionals, offers a comprehensive range of footcare services, such as skin (e.g. warts, calluses and blisters); toenail (e.g. thickened, discoloured and ingrown toenails); injury to the foot and ankle and other complications related to diabetes in the foot or having a problem with walking.

  • Psychotherapy Service

    Psychotherapy helps people who have difficulties on an emotional and behavioural level. Through psychotherapy, the person can identify and change these emotions, thoughts, and behaviours with the aim of living a better quality of life. The psychotherapy service can help senior citizens in Residential Homes as well as in the community to address issues that may be contributing to emotional difficulties.
