  • Application to Order Deeds or Wills

The Office of the Notary to Government is currently digitising the Notarial Volumes. Every day this Office is uploading public contracts and wills to the Notarial Acts Portal, thus making them available so that they can be purchased instantly. In case the required deed/will is not found online, the system permits the user to submit an order which will be serviced within three (3) working days.

Once the order has been processed, the applicant will receive an email together with a link which will direct him/her to the document/s required. Each deed/will is split into four categories (Contract/Will, Plans, Tax Documents & Other Documents) so that the client can purchase part or all of the documents that s/he needs.

  • Request for Exemption or Reduction of Fees in Connection with Research

This form is used by this Office to enable and process requests by researchers to be exempted from paying the fees charged for inspecting notarial acts and to benefit from reduced rates on copying services carried out by the Department.

If the application is approved the applicant will be notified by email. If the application is refused, the applicant will be notified of the outcome by an email which will also state the reason/s for the refusal.

  • Termination of Mandates of a General and Special Nature

Termination of Mandates of a General Nature between Physical Persons and/or Termination of Mandates of a Special Nature regarding the Transfer of Immovable Property Only

A general or special power of attorney may only be revoked online. Applicants may either revoke a specific general/special power of attorney by attaching and submitting it with the online form OR decide to revoke all general/special powers of attorney drawn up to date. Applications submitted online will be processed during Office working hours by latest 15:00. For each submitted application a fee of €50 (If ticking only one box to revoke either general or special power of attorney)  or €100 (If ticking both boxes to revoke both general and special powers of attorney) is required to be paid, which will be refunded within 10 days in case of refusal of the application. Applicants should however note that, whilst any refunds may be pending in their regard, any fresh application on their part would still require a €50 (or €100 as the case may be) payment to be made.

If an application is approved, the applicant and all local notaries, banks and other interested parties will be automatically notified by email. If the application is refused, the applicant will be notified of the outcome by an email which will also state the reason/s for the refusal.
